WASHINGTON – Chad Oscar Allen, 31, died unexpectedly, Friday, March 8, 2019.

Born in Rockport, March 20, 1987, he was the son of Clyde and Lisa Griffin Allen. Chad grew up in Washington, and made many fond memories with his buddies there.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his beloved grandfather Oscar and his nieces, Lyrik and Leslie.

Chad had a love of the ocean and spent many hours reading and drawing. He was an accomplished artist. Most recently Chad was employed at Shaw’s Supermarket in Rockland. He took great pride in his work and told his family many times that he planned to make his department the best in the store.

A talented musician, he taught himself to play guitar and loved old rock classics.

Chad’s family would like to express their heartfelt thanks for the loving support they have received. They encourage everyone to pray for those that are troubled and have made some bad choices in life. A line from one of Chad’s favorite songs sums it up for them. “I don’t know how I’m gonna tell you, I can’t play with you no more.” – That’s the Way, Led Zepplin.

Chad will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him.

Predeceased by his maternal and paternal grandparents, and a special aunt; Chad is survived by his parents, Clyde and Lisa Allen of Washington; his sister Jessica Allen and her companion Ian Simmons of Waldoboro; his nieces, Lyrik Munroe and Leslie Allen; his uncle Darell Griffin and his wife Cyndi of Westley Chapel, FL; his aunts, Terry Lawson and her husband Michael of Chelsea, Ann Upham and her husband Jason of Warren; a step-grandmother Donna Moore of Washington; as well as many close cousins and countless friends.

Chad’s family has chosen to remember his life privately, and no service will be held at this time.

Arrangements are in the care of Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock Street, Rockland.

I am not sure if Lisa or Clyde will find this but I wanted to say how sad I am that your son is gone but am sure he will never be forgotten and that one day you will see him again . I at this time think a lot about Clyde because as kids we grew up together and over the years we had not kept contact but I have always thought about you from time to time and especially today....I can only say that god will be with you both ...Lisa I know your are a very strong lady ...very nice and I hope that you will find strength in the days to come....I only know from my heart that god knows why ...Bless you both ..Sincerely Doreen and Tony.

As I write this note to Clyde and Lisa...I think of my childhood memory of Clyde when he lived on the island long time ago when we were just kids. We surely were family back then and many years have gone by without contact but I wanted to share that from time to time I think of our days when things were not so bad ..especially now and today when we struggle to find peace . I would never believe that at our age of 60 ...that our loss of our loved ones would not be with us ...but I sincerely believe in faith in god that he will let us see them once again when its our time . I will think of you both in the days to come . Bless you both and your family.
