Obituary for Susan Lee Andrews
LEWISTON – Susan L. ‘Susie’ Andrews, 64, died unexpectedly Sunday, December 23, 2018, at Central Maine Medical Center.
Born in Rockland, January 12, 1954, she was the daughter of Arthur C. ‘Mike’ and Benedicta ‘Bena’ Anastasia Andrews. She attended Rockport Elementary School, Mrs. Gibbs class at Mary E. Taylor School and Coastal Opportunities in Camden.
For more than 30 years, Susie lived in Lewiston in Support Solutions Residences. Her caring and loving personality was immediately evident to anyone she met. She loved teasing anyone she could and was always the flirt. She particularly enjoyed playing BINGO, attending Friday evening dances and summer Native American Pow Wows. Her all-time favorite was drinking her beloved coffee.
Pre-deceased by her father, Susie is survived by her mother Bena, her sister Ellen J. Andrews both of West Rockport and her mother’s dear friend, Richard Ilvonen of Owls Head, as well as several extended family members.
Susie’s family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the wonderful staff and case worker that have cared for her over the years.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, January 4, 2019, at Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock Street, Rockland. Spring interment will be in Rockville Cemetery, Rockport.
