VINALHAVEN - Friday, November 30, 2018, Ruth “Rusty” Warren peacefully passed on to join her husband Charles H. Warren, her brother Robert Gibson formerly of Lisbon Falls and her parents, Paul and Stella Gibson formerly Plainfield, N.H., who proceeded her.

She is survived by her brother Scott Gibson; her sons, Jason Jobe and his wife Ruth of Maryland, Ira Warren and his wife Terry, James Warren all of Vinalhaven; 8 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.

Rusty had a full life with Charlie on Vinalhaven, building the Sands Cove Restaurant, Candle Pin Lodge and Cabins, and always loving and caring for her family. With all the ups and downs she always counted her blessings.

In Rusty’s own words, “Every once in a while it’s good to count blessings, instead of complaining about the slaps we get in life. Counting blessings makes you feel good, and most probably we should count them more often than once in a while. Once you start counting blessings, you discover there are a lot more than you thought there were. In fact, they outweigh all the complaints you ever thought you had!”

So today and the days ahead, we count our blessings for having her in our life.

Rusty's family has chosen to remember her life privately. Arrangements are in the care of Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock Street, Rockland.
