TOPSHAM – Judith Carr, 87, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 3, 2019.

Judy was born in 1932 in Bangor, to Dr. Ralph and Edna (Drinkwater) Wooster and graduated from Bangor High School in 1949. She met the love of her life, Joseph Carr, at fourteen when they were in French class together. They went to a New Years dance and were together from that point on. After high school she went to design school in New York City. In August of 1952 she and Joe were married. After leaving Maine they lived in 14 places always vacationing in Maine and planning on returning to live someday. After finding the right piece of land she designed and built their dream home in Cushing Maine. Judy loved cooking for family and friends even keeping notes on what was served so she could make sure to serve friends their favorites. She loved art, drawing and painting most of her life. She was a docent at the Farnsworth Museum and the Olson House. Her love of art, books and music could be seen throughout her home. She felt lost after losing her husband Joe in October of 2015. She has now been able to return to him.

Judy is survived by her sons, Tim Carr and his wife Sue Wright of Brunswick, Dan Carr of Schenectady, New York; her brother-in-law Ralph Carr and his wife Nancy of Hermon; a niece Susan Knight and her husband Ron Hughes of Scarborough; nephews, Jim Knight and his wife Michelle Horino of Louisville, CO, Joe Carr and his wife Ellen of Cumberland, RI, and Mike Carr and his wife Teri of Veazie. Her friends and family will miss her dearly.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m.., Friday, May 17 at the Pleasant View Cemetery in Cushing. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to either, Friends of Cushing Rescue, P.O. Box 20, Cushing Maine 04563 or CHANS Hospice, 60 Baribeau Drive, Brunswick 04011.

Arrangements are in the care of Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock Street, Rockland.

To Tim and Sue and the Carr Family, Paula and I are sorry for your loss, may the good memories live on. It does not seem that long ago that I helped Tim clear a portion of the land in Cushing for the ' Dream House". Our thoughts are with you. Gary Thomas
