Obituary for Charlotte V. Oliver

ROCKLAND – Charlotte V. Oliver, 87, slipped quietly into the arms of Jesus, Wednesday, December 26, 2018 surrounded by the love of her daughter and son-in-law.

Born in Webster Plantation, Maine, May 4, 1931, she was the daughter of Robert H. Lyons and Rena R. Stanley Lyons.

Following graduation from high school, Charlotte attended Lee Academy in Lee, Maine and became a teacher. One year later, she met the love of her life, Stephen Garfield Oliver. They married, had a daughter and moved to Massachusetts all within the first year of their marriage.

Charlotte worked in the photo finishing business in Massachusetts for many years. For more than 30 years she waitressed in the Bellingham, Massachusetts area and in local coffee shops until she was well into her 70s.

She was an avid dog lover and thought of her daughter’s dogs as her grand babies.

Other than her parents, Charlotte was predeceased by her beloved husband, Stephen Garfield Oliver and several brothers and sisters. She is survived by her daughter Pamela J. Consoletti-Murphy and her husband Matthew Murphy of Rockland; one sister, Shirley Ann Berg as well as, several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Charlotte’s life will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, January 2, 2019, at His Glory Bible Baptist Church, 92 Butler Road, Union. Deacon Lewis Sukeforth will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to His Glory Bible Baptist Church, P.O. Box 685, Union, ME 04862.
