Obituary

ROCKLAND - Betty Daggett, 80, of Rockland, passed away at her home with family on Saturday, February 2, 2019 after a brief illness.
Born in Rockland, January 11, 1939, she was the daughter of Elmer and Genevieve (Gray) Withee. She was educated in Rockland schools, graduating in 1957 from Rockland High School. She worked at the Dairy Joy, Goodnow’s Pharmacy, The Woodcraft Shop and Bunker Trucking.
She married her high school sweetheart, William Daggett, also of Rockland, on October 9, 1958. Bill and Betty enjoyed a 62 year relationship. They made their home in Thomaston for 47 years where they raised their four children. They retired to their home in Rockland in 2007.
The most meaningful part of Betty's life was her family. She was a dedicated daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother. In her children's youth, she volunteered in their activities and interests. She was a scout leader, brownie leader and room mother. Opening her home to entertain friends and family was very important to her, especially at the holidays.
Betty is predeceased by her parents and her brother Raymond Withee. She is survived by her husband William; son Gregori Daggett and his wife Wendy of Union; daughters, Beth Smith and her husband Michael of Clark Island, Heidi Smith and her husband Glenn of Thomaston, Jennifer Morris and her husband Hale of Rockland; her grandchildren, Gregori Daggett Jr., Brittany and Andrew Dondlinger, Michael Smith Jr., Jessie Johnson, Amanda and Ryan Cunningham, Benjamin Smith, Noah Smith, Hale Morris and Kellan Morris; and her great-grandchildren, Sebastian, Hayzen, Addilyn and Olive due in March.
A celebration of Betty’s life will be held at 4:00 p.m., Monday, February 11, 2019 at Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock Street, Rockland.

So sorry to hear of Betty's passing; we are praying for the family. I remember visiting Betty and Billy with my grandmother and Aunt Bertha and seeing family at family reunions. Special memories.

We are so sorry! Even after all these years, we still considered her another sister. She was always ready for a party, and in her younger days, ready to go dancing! She will be sorely missed. Our condolences, prayers and hugs to all of you.
