CAMDEN - Barbara E. Josselyn Carver was sung into glory by her loving family on the evening of Thursday, October 4th, 2018 at the Sussman House in Rockport Maine.

Born in Camden, May 17, 1930 she was the daughter of Horace E. and Leotia I. Peirce Josselyn. She was the eldest of their children. Her siblings Robert Josselyn, Beatrice Winslow, Horace Josselyn and Jessie Jacobs all predeceased her as well as her parents. She was also predeceased by her husband Floyd Carver Sr. and her stepson, Floyd Carver Jr.

She is survived by her daughter Bonnie Hawes Brann and her husband Raymond of Friendship; grandson Raymond Brann II of Rockland and Jess Brann of Camden; she is also survived by her grandchildren, Caitlin, Raymond, Jonathan, Joshua, and Joseph; in addition is her extended family whom she loved, and was loved by, Jeff and Emily Burgess, Kristian and Sarah Burgess, Katy and Josh Callahan, Jason and Saralyn Burgess, Julie and Einar Bratz, Joel and Sara Burgess, Wendy and Lee Pelletier, and all their many children.

Barbara worked for Tibbetts Industries (now Tibbetts IntriCon) in Camden since its inception and retired after over 60 years of service.

She was a well-known and sought after cake decorator for many years and supplied establishments such as the Whitehall Inn in Camden on many occasions.

Barbara was a longtime member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Camden. She was a passionate Christian and exemplified what a true follower of Christ should be. Her home and kitchen were always open to anyone in need.

She had two favorite pastimes; number one was to go shopping, especially if she could score bargains to shower her family and friends with gifts, and second was to take a nap after church. That was a ‘Do Not Disturb’ time.

She will be missed by her many nieces and nephews, church family, and work friends and especially her lifelong friend Priscilla Crockett of Rockport, who she faithfully called every night at 9:00 PM.

The family wishes to the thank the kind and caring staffs of Pen Bay Medical Center, the Sussman House, and Burpee, Carpenter and Hutchins Funeral Home. They made the end of her earthly journey as easy as possible for her and us.

Family and friends are invited to visit from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at Burpee, Carpenter and Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock St., Rockland. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday October 10, 2018 at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 164 Cobb Rd. Camden.
